If you don’t get it, I don’t have time to explain. In fact, explaining is actually a net negative usage of my focus. When I explain something, I lose EXP. This is Runescape, and you’re making me lose levels because you won’t do anything to level yourself up. Pick up that rusted sword and go slay goblins!
Like Jesus said: be like a child, because kids get it. Kids explore and figure shit out - we sit lazily and wonder why we have no energy. Kids bend the rules of the game - we bend our knees before idols. Kids have an idea and then wonder how to accomplish it - we have an idea and forget it in a minute.
Case in point:
This screenshot was a moment in time when something truly great happened.
On launch of Club Relay, after my record label GEIST made over $1000 (23.5 BSV) from just 36 or so customers all over the world whom I’ve never met and don’t know personally,,,
The motley crew of misfits were talking in a Twitter space. And then a 13 year old girl came into the conversation.
She was like “Do yal like Ken Carson?”
Then she asked “Can I make NFTs? I’m trying to make a bag.” We like people who want to make bags.
For the next two hours, everyone in the space helped this young girl onboard onto BitCoin, sent her $0.10 to play with, got her to mint her very own AI cat picture using AskHAPI and minted it on Relay for about $0.003. And someone bought it immediately.
I decided then that I’d screenshot the space, and mint the screencap as an NFT.

I minted 25 copies for less than a cent, and sent 5 to her for her to price however she wants. (They’re way too expensive now but the moment is iconic so who knows, she may have a winner one day. It’s all a learning process in business.)
I sold all 20 (keeping one for myself) for 0.01BSV each, which is about $0.43 each. They all sold within a few minutes, and then I sent her all the proceeds. So this kid made probably around 0.25 of a BitCoin in an hour, without spending a penny. Smart kid!
Already people are flipping the jpg and so is she. Kids get it. Kids are capitalists.
This young girl represents the paradigm shift that is coming. If you can’t see it, you will be blindsided. But I think it’ll be a net positive for all.
During this onboarding hour, I asked her a lot of questions about how she spends her time and her economy of attention. She likes Twitch streamers, she donates to her favorite one, just $1 a month, and he’s the smallest of her favorites. She’s loyal to that streamer, even though she watches the others for longer and thinks they have better content. She sells handbags on Ebay and Mercari, and flips clothes on Graild. She loves the Carti label OPIUM and shills all their artists in a random BitCoin Twitter space where nobody (except me) probably listens to that music.
In short, she’s living in GEISTLAND. She got there long before I did.
I think it’s time for the structures we live within today to collapse under their own mediocrity. I am sick of relevancy. In the future, relevancy will be such an outdated mode. Those who cling to outdated social modalities and nebulous social games will be like fish gasping in air. Those who play niceties and work under structures in metropolitan areas will have a rude awakening when Asian, African and Latino teenagers beat them at every game. But they’ll be fine too, just irrelevant.
Andy Warhol said we all get 15 minutes, and that’s true today. But in the future, every 10 minutes… was your 10 minutes. If you know, you know. Better put some effort into what you do.
This kid could be a millionaire before she’s even 18, if she continues with what was shown to her. We, on the other hand, are still following celebrities on Instagram and watching people’s stories. She owns the future; we are wasting our time. She wants a bag; we want to be addicted to ourselves. She just got the dopamine hit of pure consumption and commerce; we get dopamine hits from reading gibberish on Twitter or Substack. She used a new technology without giving a shit what it means or about any ideology - we read Wikipedia pages before we act.
So few people are working for the future and even fewer are ready to live their life in service to a future. I am not perfect by any means but I have not really ever compromised this principle, even though I didn’t really know how to voice it before. I don’t think I can now either really, but, experiences such as these are like keys that unlock the heart’s open door. I know why I am the way I am now, better than ever before. Every day is like emerging from a chrysalis.
I am so excited for irrelevance; I am so excited for mass ego death.
